  • Description

Welcome to our beautiful lakefront home on Lake Sam Rayburn Reservoir near Broaddus, TX. This lake house is perfect for anglers, hunters, and families and the price cannot be beat. Located less than five minutes from Broaddus, TX and the Jackson Hill Marina you will be close to stores, restaurants, and boat access while still feeling you are away from it all. Zavalla is twelve miles away and Cassels-Boykin public access is only ten miles away.

Walk less than one hundred feet and you are at the shore of a sheltered cove that is great for swimming, fishing and boating. Photography and birding possibilities abound, regularly seen are bald eagles, cranes, egrets, hawks, turtles, otters, and deer.

For the anglers we have tried to meet all of your needs: conveniently located exterior outlets for charging your equipment, fish cleaning station, and shoreline tie-offs for your boat if you so desire. The fishing here is amazing as well, with largemouth bass (of course!), white/yellow/striped bass, crappie, gar and catfish waiting to hit your lines.

Hunters staying here will be pleasantly surprised at how close they are to hunting in the Angelina National Forest just a few minutes from the property.

For the chefs and foodies out there we have a fully furnished kitchen with all the utensils and cookware you need to make your culinary masterpiece. In addition we have a charcoal grill, propane grill, and a smoker on an outside patio for the BBQ aficionados. Having this much fun can get a little messy so we have provided an outdoor shower (with hot water), a newly remodeled bathroom, and a washer and dryer to help keep you spic and span.

For the kids and young at heart we have tons of board games, card games, a pedal boat, and a washers pit out back. Not to mention our fire pit where hot dogs and marshmallows find their proper tasty end.

Thanks for visiting our site, we hope you choose to make your memories with us!

This property was the perfect family retreat. The cabin had all the luxuries of home and was in a quiet lake setting. Sitting around the fire pit at night was the best. We will be back.

    • Best Lake House Rental EVER

Reviewed by DAKLOWN from La Porte, TX on September 07, 2014 for their trip during August 01, 2014

This secluded lake house was absolutely outstanding. The owners have it well appointed with dishes, pots, pans, washer, dryer, gas grill, charcoal grill, smoker, fire pit, dog run and it's situated in a perfect location. Close to a boat ramp, close to a marina, beautiful little cove where you can pull you boat in right up to the house property. Fished right there for a short while the first day and caught a nice channel catfish. Spent four and a half days on the lake and had a great time. Highly recommend this rental property.

    • Great lake house on a beautiful lake

Reviewed by John E. from Austin TX on August 14, 2014 for their trip during August 01, 2014

We really enjoyed our visit here. Not only was the cabin very comfortable and well appointed, the lake was beautiful and not overly developed. The cove that leads right up to the property will accommodate most any fishing boat and based on the fishermen there, it must be a good place to fish as well. The cabin is well thought out and provisions are there for most anything I can think of to do at the lake. You won't find bars, clubs, shopping malls or chain restaurants here but that's one of the biggest attractions this place has to offer. Do find time to check out Jackson Hill Marina. In addition to handling all of your boating/fishing needs, they offer excellent home cooking with a great view of the lake.

Owner Response: John, We appreciate your kind words and helpful review leading people to our friends at Jackson Hill Marina. We look forward to your next visit. regards, Erin and Brian

    • 4th of July

Very nice lake cabin on great lake location. Enough beds for all 6 of us. Caught one small bass and about 16 small catfish..3 small perch. House stocked wonderfully. Only thing was that the ac units wouldn't cool the cabin off during the day and at night we closed off bedroom doors to get some cool rest and the rest of the house was suffocating....I would stay again maybe in cooler weather. Overall a happy 4th of July weekend.

Owner Response: Thanks Lori for the review and feedback. We are glad you caught some fish and that the house was stocked to your liking :) Could you please let us know how many AC units you were running? We typically just run the two in bedrooms and the whole house stays at 68 degrees. When we run all three (including the one in the main room) we can cool the house to 62 degrees on 95 degree days. I wonder if one of the units is starting to fail as when all three are functioning you can freeze yourself on the hottest days. In the future, please contact us during your stay so we can see if we can remedy something immediately. We look forward to you coming back and everything working as you expect it to. regards, Erin and Brian

Owner Response: Hi Bealynda, Thanks for your kind review. We agree that the cove has some excellent fishing and the river channel is just a few minutes away by boat. Also glad to hear your puppy enjoyed the place. We love it when people can bring their favorite animal friend too. Come on back anytime! regards, Erin and Brian

We found that the back porch and large fire pit were excellent gathering places to sit, relax, and solve the world's problems. We'll be back when visiting Sam Rayburn again!

Celelbrated our Mother's 93rd Birthday here. Had a very enjoyable stay. Plenty of room for 5 people plus. Greatly enjoyed the location, grill, and especially the outside firepit. Only problems were that the DVD did not work and the sewer started to leak into the backyard. Owner had someone come out and inspect and said the sewer will be fixed soon. Also the Owner did refund some of our cost due to the problems which was greatly apprecitated. I would recommend the Owner have a list of instructions on how to operate the heating system ( one wall unit that doubles as a air conditioner and also a heater and two space heaters ) and also instructions on how to work the TV and DVD system.

Owner Response: Hi Raymond, We are very glad you took the time to write us and for the kind and helpful comments. WRT the DVD player and TV, we do have instructions in the rental agreement but perhaps something new happened during your stay. We will check it out in person at first chance. We will also look into improving the heater instructions as you suggested. Thanks so much for your business.

Great place for a family vacation. House was everything described and then some. It was a plus being able to keep the boat at the house - only had to launch once. The cove also provides a protected area for the boat in the event of bad weather. It is a great place for fishing, bird watching (saw some bald eagles) and just relaxing. The only suggestion I would make is to provide a Wi-Fi connection. I only make this suggestion because the cell phone reception is poor in the area and even though I would just as soon not be "connected" on a vacation, it does offer a way to be contacted in the event of an emergency. Wonderful time - would rent again.

Owner Response: Thanks Weldon for taking the time to provide such a positive review. You are correct about the poor cell phone reception except for AT&T. To help fix this problem we have recently installed a new AT&T 'home phone' which allows anyone staying at the property to contact the outside world. We hope you decide to come on back when the weather gets a bit more stable and the fish get aggressive. regards, Erin and Brian

Will definitely recommend you to others! Thank you so much!

Owner Response: Geana, Thanks so much for the great review. The only problem was your time was so short! We look forward to your next longer stay so your husband can catch a lunker and send us some pictures. Remember we are kid and pet friendly so bring them all. regards, Erin and Brian

weather was pretty cold during our stay .... the heating system was a bit undersized to keep the house warm. We really appreciated having the pedalboat at disposal. Nice pleace to relax with kids .... also good for those who like fishing.

Owner Response: Thank you for positive reviww Elisabeth. We are glad you enjoyed the wildlife viewing opportunities and the free use of the pedal boat. We were surprised to hear the heating wasn't up to your standards. We have a central heating unit designed for 800 sq ft and two tower heaters in each bedroom that can also cover 600 sq ft (both of which are remote controlled). We take all guest feedback seriously so we will do a test run of the heaters again during the current cold snap. Thanks again for the feedback.
